Director of Product at Mahalo

Who We Are Looking For
We need a fantastic Director of Product, someone who will help us
continue to evolve our products to the next level. Our product lead
must work to prioritize based on business objectives and customer
needs, and deliver game changing products, ahead of schedule.
The right person is an experienced manager, who knows how to handle
rapid company growth and can work with executives, engineers, and
customers. They must know consumer internet products inside and out and
how to launch and refine great web products. They need a genuine desire
for excellence, and are the kind of person who shows up at work
everyday absolutely ready to 'kill it'.
That having been said: we are open to fresh talent also. We'll look
at people who may not have ALL the experience, but have the obvious
enthusiasm and aptitude to grow into the role.
This is a key role for the company, reporting to the CTO with visibility with the company's board.
Key Responsibilities:
* Work with the executive team to define and prioritize new products and features
* Create and manage the review of product specs, wireframes, and mockups
* Work with our visual designer to produce amazing designs that provide a clear blueprint for the engineering team
* Work with the engineering team to ensure the timely launch of features
* Work with our user community to understand their needs and how we can better serve them
* Define and analyze metrics to optimize product development
Requirements:
* Passion for helping people find information they can trust and customer service
* Deep pride in your work
* Excellent track record of delivering industry leading consumer internet products, preferably search products
* Experience working with executives, designers, engineers, and customers
* Ability to multi-task, prioritize projects, and communicate timelines
* Ability to synthesize feedback and maintain ownership of product development process
* Experience with fast paced product development
* Self-starter with ability to work effectively in a dynamic start-up environment
* Experience leveraging metrics to optimize product development
Bonus Points:
* Deep experience with Google Analytics and Adsense
* Experience with direct customer observation and usability testing
* Programming experience, preferably with PHP, Python and django
* Experience scaling advertising businesses from a product perspective
